No Student Dental Plan? Here Is What You Can Use
Anderson is a private career college, which means there is no student union health and dental plan attached to your fees. Public colleges and universities have one. You almost certainly do not. Most Anderson students walk into a dental office with nothing.
That does not mean you have to pay full price, and it does not mean you should put off a toothache until it becomes a root canal. There are three routes, and one of them probably applies to you.
The CDCP
If your household income is under $90,000 and you have no private dental insurance, you may qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan. We are a registered provider.
A parent, partner or employer plan
Many students are still on a family plan, or have coverage through a job. Bring the details and we will check and bill it directly.
NIHB
First Nations and Inuit students are covered under NIHB. We accept it and submit the claim for you.
Not sure which applies to you?
Bring what you have and we will work it out at the desk before any treatment starts.

What it costs
What You Will Actually Pay
Without a student plan, the honest question is what things cost. Here is a guide to the common ones. We follow the Ontario Dental Association fee guide and we give you the exact figure before we start.
| Service | Typically covered | Covered by CDCP? |
| Exam and X-rays | From $150 | Yes |
| Cleaning and scaling | From $150 | Yes |
| Root canal | $170 to $320 | Yes |
| Tooth filling | $180 to $540 | Yes |
| Tooth extractions | $520 to $1,220 | Often, in part |
| Emergency exam | From $150 | Yes |
| Crowns | Quoted at consultation | Limited |
| Braces or Invisalign | Quoted at consultation | No |
| Teeth whitening | $250 to $450 | No |
These are guide ranges only and your own cost depends on the tooth and the treatment needed. We confirm the exact figure and any coverage before starting.
Nothing hidden
You will not get a bill you did not expect. We check any coverage you have, tell you what it pays and what you owe, and only start once you have agreed. If you would rather do the urgent part now and the rest later, say so and we will plan it that way.
Why we work for students
Open Until Midnight, Because You Are Probably Working
A lot of Anderson students are retraining while holding down a job, or studying full days with a shift on either side. Most dental offices along Yonge close at five or six, which is no help to either.
We are open until midnight Monday to Saturday, and Sunday afternoons. Walk in after class, after a shift, or on a Saturday evening. No appointment, no referral, and no waiting a week for a slot that lands in the middle of your practicum.

| Walk In Dental | Typical clinic | |
| Monday to Friday | 9 AM to midnight | 9 AM to 5 PM |
| Saturday | 9 AM to midnight | Closed or half day |
| Sunday | 11 AM to 4 PM | Closed |
| Appointment needed | No | Usually yes |

Dr. Farah Karimi
Meet Your Dentist
Your care is led by Dr. Farah Karimi, who founded Walk In Dental Clinic and built it around access, which is why we are still open at eleven at night. Alongside her, Dr. Niousha Zerafatjou, Dr. Mehdi Shadaloie, Dr. Mahmood Beheshtifar and Dr. Nastaran Niknamfard see patients through the evening, with hygienists Rose and Mitra Arefinejad.
A student should not have to skip a lecture to see a dentist. That is why we stay open.

- Gentle with anxious patients

Care in Farsi and English
Anderson brings students from all over the world, and a large part of that community speaks Farsi. Our whole team does too, so you can describe what hurts and understand your treatment without translating in your head first.

Dr. Neusha Zarafar Jou is one the best dentist I’ve ever seen, very kind, patient, compassionate, and experienced. I told her that her brain digitize the teeth and do the work one time fast & perfectly! I’m an engineer who really believes in her skills and vision! The clinic is also very collaborative!Posted on Google![]()

It's not often you hear people saying they had a great experience at the dentist? I did and I would recommend this clinic %100. Every member of this dental team is polite, enthusiastic and perfection oriented. I love how every procedure is explained both before and during your dental work. I recommend the WALK-IN CLINIC to everyone. I am so grateful for the Clinic's care & kindness to me. Respect. Audrey Page

Anderson Student Dental Questions
Does Anderson College give me dental coverage?
No. Anderson is a private career college, so there is no student union health and dental plan attached to your fees. If you have no other insurance you may qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan, and we are a registered provider.
How do I know if I qualify for CDCP?
The main conditions are a household income under $90,000 and no access to private dental insurance. Bring what you have and our front desk will help you check before you book any treatment.
What if I am still on my parent's insurance?
That usually works here. Bring the plan details and we will confirm your coverage and bill it directly where we can.
How much is a checkup and cleaning without insurance?
An exam with X-rays and a cleaning starts at around $150 each. We follow the Ontario Dental Association fee guide and we tell you the exact cost before we begin.
How far is your clinic from the campus?
We are on the same street. Your campus is at 5734 Yonge Street and we are at 6093 Yonge, a couple of kilometres north past Steeles. That is about a five minute drive, one bus, or a 25 minute walk.
Can I really walk in without an appointment?
Yes, seven days a week. Monday to Saturday until midnight, Sunday 11 AM to 4 PM. Call ahead on (647) 931-6696 if you want us to hold a time.
I am an international student. Can I be treated here?
Yes. You do not need OHIP or any government coverage to see a dentist. If you have private travel or study insurance, bring it and we will check what it covers. Most international students are not eligible for CDCP.
I am training as a dental assistant. Can I ask questions during my visit?
Please do. Our team has trained assistants for years and we are happy to talk through what we are doing.
Do you offer payment options?
Talk to us. We would rather treat the urgent part now and plan the rest than have you leave in pain. Ask at the desk and we will find something workable.
Do you have a Farsi speaking dentist?
Yes. Our whole team speaks Farsi as well as English.
Two Minutes Up the Road
You do not need a student plan, an appointment, or a referral. Walk up Yonge any day until midnight and we will look at it. If you would rather know the cost first, call and we will tell you over the phone.
